Her green eyes, her engaging smile and Karina Michelin’s intelligence create the perfect combination to describe a life story that speaks of fashion, journalism, motherhood, art and the duty to stimulate people to think and act.
Born in Botucatu (São Paulo), as a child she took drama lessons and was elected Mini Miss São Paulo and at just 15 years old she already had a signed contract with Ford Models, one of the most famous and well-known modeling agencies in the world, thus starting her international career as a model and in the fashion industry. Despite this, she has never put her passion for communication on the back burner, indeed, at the same time as her modeling activity she has taken courses in theater, cinema and visual communication and then undertaken a path in the field of broadcast companies. In her path there are important collaborations as marketing manager in the channels AXN, and Playboy TV, for example and her relationship with Radio, Internet and TV therefore become indispensable. During these years spent working in both sectors, in 2006 she was elected Miss Italia nel mondo and a new step in her career as a collaborator with the Italian media.
She will take a break from everything in 2014, with the birth of her second child and to dedicate herself to motherhood. Karina, a brilliant and restless mind, creates the Girls Like Us project, a brand dedicated to women artisans and in 2019 she resumes, with all her strength and experience, her work with communication and with investigative and opinion journalism. She is currently 100% dedicated to her website www.karinamichelin.com and as an international correspondent for Brazilian media channels. A phrase by Karina to reflect on every day: “A society can only be free when the mind is free too”.
